Well Head Platform
(Power Generation Access Platforms)
A Wellhead is the component at the surface of an oil or gas well that provides the structural and pressure-containing interface for the drilling and production equipment. The purpose of a wellhead is to provide the suspension point and pressure seals for the casing strings that run from the bottom of the hole sections to the surface pressure control equipment. Maintenance on this equipment is critical!
Workers need a platform system to permit workover tasks to be performed on the above ground wellhead component. In most cases when such workover completion work is being performed on a wellhead, ordinary modular-type scaffolding is erected around the wellhead so that workers can access equipment at the wellhead at an elevated position. Scaffolding is inconvenient for several reasons; as it takes significant time to assemble and certify for safety, it can be unstable on frozen ground that is subject to thawing, and is not easily moved to accommodate exchange of equipment at the wellhead.
